CARIE provides testimony at the US Senate Appropriations Committee on Tuesday, February 15, 2011!

Rebecca Nurick, Senior Medicare Patrol Project Manager at CARIE travelled to Washington DC on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 to provide testimony for the US Senate Appropriations Committee! The committee heard testimonies regarding fighting fraud in both Medicare and Medicaid. Senator Harkin and Senator Shelby were both in attendance and were very interested to hear more about the Senior Medicare Patrol Project.
The Administration on Aging (AoA), a division of the US Department of Health and Human Services, developed the Senior Medicare Patrol Program to help consumers understand more about health care fraud.  CARIE began Pennsylvania’s Senior Medicare Patrol Project in 1997.
At the hearing Rebecca spoke about the National Senior Medicare Patrol Project as well as Pennsylvania’s efforts. Click on this link to see Rebecca’s testimony (at around 77:20)
