Volunteer Opportunities - Committees

CARIE’s Dorothy S. Washburn Legislative Committee monitors legislative and regulatory developments at local, state and national levels in an effort to promote the well being of frail older adults.  The Committee consists of consumers as well as professionals in the field of aging who generally meet the first Thursday every month at CARIE from 9:30 to11:30 AM.  Please sign-up now for the Committee’s email list if you are interested in joining the Committee or would like to receive advocacy alerts, legislative updates and meeting announcements.  You do not have to attend meetings to receive policy information.  For more information, please contact Kathy Cubit at CARIE. Or, if you know you'd like to be on the mailing list simply go to this link to register.

The Ethics Education Committee is comprised of long term care providers, advocates, academics, and professionals in the field of aging.  They help guide CARIE’s long-term care ethics work particularly with two projects, the development of an ethics training manual and the adaptation of the ethics program from facility-based long term care to home and community-based care.  The Committee will also help to expand our work to include hospice care and to take the initial steps toward the development of an education program addressing ethics at the organizational level in long term care.  For more information, please contact Michele Mathes at CARIE.
